The Lofty and Exalted Order of Uplifters ("The Uplifters") is a social club within the Los Angeles Athletic Club founded in 1913. Members included author L. Frank Baum, directors Hal Roach and Busby Berkeley, performers Harold Lloyd, Leo Carrillo, and Will Rogers, and song writer Byron Gay, among many others.
From its inception, The Uplifters' mission was to celebrate creativity and camaraderie through gatherings - like their famous Hijinx - and outings around Los Angeles.
Today, the Uplifters serves that same vision with a focus on art-related adventures for LAAC members.
